Songtradr's Marketplace Closes September 30, 2026: The Final Details

The "early Fall 2026, exact date TBD" we've been citing all series is over — here's what Songtradr confirmed.

By Jianda Monique

Songtradr just sent a direct notice to subscribers confirming what the last few pieces in this series have been waiting on: a real, final closure date. The Marketplace closes September 30, 2026. If you've been holding off acting because the timeline was still open-ended, it isn't anymore.

The one deadline, confirmed

September 30, 2026 — the Marketplace dashboard stops being accessible, and this is also the cutoff to back up anything of your own that Songtradr won't carry over for you. One date now covers both, which is a change from what we reported earlier (more on that below).

What happens on September 30

If you're an active paid subscriber, you'll get an email with an activation link to MassiveMusic for Rightsholders that same day. Once you activate, Songtradr says your active releases and their metadata carry over on their own, along with your full account balance and your payment and tax information — nothing further needed from you for any of that. The Marketplace dashboard itself stops being reachable from that point on. Worth stating plainly since it comes up often: MassiveMusic for Rightsholders is a subscription-based platform, not a free destination for your migrated data — your existing Songtradr Pro subscription carries over automatically to cover it.

What won't come with you — back this up yourself, before the 30th

Two specific things are staying behind, per Songtradr's own notice:

  • Audio files that aren't part of an active release or playlist. If you've got demos, stems, or unreleased tracks sitting in your Marketplace library that were never attached to something live, pull your own copies now.
  • Profile information straight from your dashboard. Your bio, any notes, anything you'd typed directly into your Marketplace profile — save it somewhere of your own if you'd want it again.

After September 30, both are gone. Not archived, not recoverable through support — gone the way anything is once a dashboard stops existing.

If there's money sitting in your account

Submit your payout request now if you're not planning to keep using the service. Songtradr's own language here is worth repeating plainly: support is expecting a high volume of these requests and is quoting 5–7 days to get to yours. That's not a reason to panic, but it is a reason not to wait until September 29 to ask.

This replaces something we told you earlier — worth being upfront about

Our earlier piece on withdrawals and data backup was built around what Songtradr's own help center said at the time: two separate clocks, a 90-day backup window running from an earlier June notice, and a separately-dated marketplace closure. That's not the situation anymore. Songtradr has folded both into the single September 30 date described above. We've gone back and corrected that piece rather than leave outdated advice up — worth a reread if you'd bookmarked it under the old framing, since the specific dates and the "two clocks" structure have both changed.

This is, honestly, a clean example of why we keep saying what we say about catalog ownership: a platform's own transition plan can change more than once before it's final, and the honest move is to correct the record when that happens rather than let stale advice sit around collecting search traffic. If you haven't already, export your own catalog metadata — the next time a distributor's plans shift midstream, it won't matter which version of their FAQ you last read.
